On this occasion, Javier Usón, a PhD student from the GTI, was in charge of presenting the group, offering an overview of its main research lines. During his presentation, he explained how the GTI works on the development of advanced technologies for the processing and transmission of visual content, ranging from 3D reconstruction from 2D images to the creation of volumetric video and its efficient distribution over 5G networks. He also discussed deep learning applications in image analysis and enhancement, georegistration for aligning content from different sources, and quality of experience to ensure that users have an optimal perception of immersive content.

Furthermore, he highlighted the applications of these technologies in the field of extended reality (XR) and immersive reality, areas that open new opportunities for interaction between the physical and digital worlds, positioning the IPG at the forefront of audiovisual innovation.

These events are an excellent opportunity for PhD students and young researchers to showcase their work, generate synergies, and promote new collaborations both inside and outside ETSIT.

Thanks to the organization of GREAT talks for creating this space for connection between students and researchers, and for fostering the exchange of ideas that drives innovation.
